Stieg Larsson Named USA Today's Author of the Year

USA Today has awarded Author of the Year honors to Stieg Larsson, declaring: “With the right character, an author can defy death–and live on in the hearts of readers.” Deirdre Donahue further cites the immense popularity of the trilogy that began with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and calls Lisbeth Salander “the digital age’s first true heroine.”

Those head-over-heels for Lisbeth can of course look forward to the English-language adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, directed by David Fincher and currently scheduled for release in December 2011.
