The Knockoff Is Your Next Great Beach Read

Summer is just around the corner, and we’ve got the perfect guilty pleasure for you and your book club! Lucy Sykes and Jo Piazza’s national bestseller The Knockoff was just released in paperback, and as Town and Country said, it’s “the only beach read you should be seen with.”

Described as “The Devil Wears Prada meets All About Eve” by People magazine, The Knockoff follows Glossy magazine editor in chief Imogen Tate as she returns to work after some time away. As soon as she steps foot in her office, she can tell that everything has changed in her absence. Her former assistant, Eve, fresh out of Harvard Business School, has fired “the grey hairs,” put the managing editor in a supply closet, stopped using landlines, and hired a bevy of manicured underlings who text and tweet their way through meetings. Wildly out of her depth, Imogen faces a choice—pack up her Smythson notebooks and quit, or channel her inner millennial and take on Eve to save both the magazine and her career.

How can Imogen reconquer the fashion world and show Eve who’s boss? For a start, she’ll have to embrace social media, so in the playful spirit of the book we’ve created these faux Twitter profiles to help you get to know Imogen and her incorrigible rival.
