Oprah Winfrey and Sam Mendes Plan to Bring Netherland to the Big Screen

According to the Telegraph, Joseph O’Neill’s bestselling book, Netherland will be getting the Hollywood treatment!

The film rights are owned by Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Films which has been in negotiations with Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes to direct. Christopher Hampton, the acclaimed playwright who adapted Ian McEwan’s Atonement will be adapting Netherland for the screen.
