Blog Love for Judith Jones

The raves are in: the blogosphere loves Judith Jones and her new cookbook, The Pleasures of Cooking for One. Says Gina Mallet in The National Post‘s food and drink blog, The Appetizer: “I love the batterie de cuisine ‘for one,’ the little extras, the tips gleaned from a lifetime of editing cookbooks—how she writes about the visceral nature of cooking, something so often erased in the military cooking manual of today…Jones is so relaxed. I can now stop measuring 1/4 tsp of salt and just throw in a pinch. She returns control to the cook.”

One of our very own Be Like Julie: Cook From Julia contest participants took one of Judith’s recipes for a test ride, and she reports, “The cover made my mouth water, and I’ve had Cheese Soufflé on my mind ever since. Tonight was the night and wow! It was fabulous. I don’t think I’ve made a soufflé in at least 20 years and Jones’ recipe made it easy.”

Bloggers are also flocking to Judith Jones’s events and returning with rapturous posts. Amateur Foodie Adventures exclaims, “They broke the mold when they made Judith!” Eating from the Ground Up agrees: “Judith Jones [is] the kind of woman for whom you just want to clap after everything she says.”
