Debut novelist Evie Wyld, author of the “haunting and brilliant” (San Francisco Chronicle, recommended reading) After the Fire, a Still Small Voice, won this year’s annual John Llewellyn Rhys literary prize.
Novelist and playwright Louise Doughty, chair of the judges, calls After the Fire, a Still Small Voice “a remarkable book. A sometimes poignant, sometimes comic story of a father and son who have so much in common but never quite connect, it is awash with fine images that linger in the mind.”
