Discussion Resources For Three Faulkner Favorites

Reading William Faulkner’s work with your reading group can be a rewarding experience—but also a daunting one. Faulkner’s stylistic innovations and complex themes are rich ground for discussion, and with that in mind, we’ve created a special reading group guide for three of his most popular novels, all of which feature brand new cover art: The Sound and the Fury, As I Lay Dying, and Absalom, Absalom!.

Our guide includes discussion questions for each individual book, questions for comparing the three books, and a map of Yoknapatawpha County drawn by Faulkner himself. See the Scribd widget below to browse, download, and print the guide. (If you have any trouble seeing the widget, click here to view on the Scribd website.)

In addition, we’ve updated the covers for three more Faulkner classics: Light in August; Go Down, Moses; and Collected Stories; brand new reading group guides for these titles will be available soon. Over the next few months, we’ll continue debuting new cover art for the entirety of our Faulkner collection—all of which is, don’t forget, now in eBook! Keep an eye on the Reading Group Center for updates.
