WHY: Great writers at a crazy-good convention.
Comic-Con 2013 will be held in New York at the Jacob K. Javits Center from October 10-13th. Writers B.J. Novak, Erin Morgenstern, and Ben Katchor will be attending on behalf of the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group.
Giveaways at the booth will include copies of paperback copies of Morgenstern’s THE NIGHT CIRCUS and Glen Duncan’s THE LAST WEREWOLF, pieces of Chris Ware’s BUILDING STORIES, a sampler of stories by B.J. Novak, wolf crowns inspired by Anne Rice’s THE WOLVES OF MIDWINTER, buttons designed by Chip Kidd, Ada Lovelace postcards illustrated by Sydney Padua, instructions from Jesse Ball on how to become invisible, and Pantheon Graphic Novels pens. Attendees will also be able to preview Charles Burns’s next graphic novel, to be published in Fall 2014.

B.J. Novak
Actor, writer, director and producer, B.J. Novak makes his entrance onto the literary stage with a startlingly original collection of stories, ONE MORE THING, that are hilarious, insightful, moving and provocative. Rumor has it he may even “perform” one of them. B.J. will be in conversation with Lev Grossman, the book critic at Time magazine and the author of the bestselling novels The Magicians and The Magician King. B.J. will also sign a sampler of select stories from his upcoming collection.

Erin Morgenstern
The author of the #1 national bestseller THE NIGHT CIRCUS, Erin Morgenstern is also a multimedia artist, who describes all her work as “fairy tales in one way or another.”

Ben Katchor
The first cartoonist to receive a MacArthur Fellowship, Ben Katchor’s HAND-DRYING IN AMERICA has beautiful full-color images throughout, which the Los Angeles Times’ David Ulin says: “Reminds me of all the reasons I fell in love with his work 20-odd years ago…At the heart of all his work is the same intention: to find, however odd or enigmatic, a moment of real connection in an increasingly surreal world.” Katchor is the author of The Cardboard Valise, The Jew of New York; Julius Knipl, Real Estate Photographer: The Beauty Supply District; and several works of musical theater with the composer Mark Mulcahy. He teaches at Parsons The New School for Design.
