Lexy Bloom

Editorial Director
Lexy Bloom oversees Knopf Cooks, our culinary program, for which she acquires and edit cookbooks and food writing, as well as manages the cookbook backlist, home to authors such as Julia Child, Marcella Hazan, Madhur Jaffrey, and Edna Lewis. Knopf Cooks publishes voice-driven, upmarket yet accessible cookbooks that lend a distinct perspective to a cuisine or culture, from Sohla El-Waylly to Deb Perelman, from Hetty McKinnon to Kwame Onwuachi, from restaurants like Via Carota to Sofreh. Additionally, she works with authors of literary fiction and nonfiction such as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Haruki Murakami, and Orhan Pamuk.

Tom Pold

Senior Editor
Tom Pold is a senior editor at Alfred A. Knopf, where he acquires and edits cookbook and food narratives for Knopf Cooks, as well as handles backlist titles for Knopf Cooks Classics, like Julia Child, Marcella Hazan, Edna Lewis and Madhur Jaffrey. In addition to the authors below, other authors he has worked with include Nancy Silverton; Lidia Bastianich; and Jody Williams and Rita Sodi of Via Carota.

Tom’s Titles

Isa Connolly is an editorial assistant who works predominantly with the Knopf Cooks team. She has worked closely on cookbooks by Hetty Lui McKinnon, Padma Lakshmi, Kwame Onwuachi, Katie Button and Irene Yoo. When she is not reading, you can find her looking for the perfect tuna melt in the city, frosting tiered cakes for birthday parties, or trying new recipes from Knopf cookbooks. She grew up in Panama, went to university in London, and now lives in Brooklyn, NY.

Sara Eagle is the director of marketing at Knopf Cooks. She began her career in publicity at Alfred A. Knopf where she worked with authors such as Deb Perelman, Lidia Bastianich, and Joan Nathan. Recently, Sara has run major marketing campaigns for cookbooks by Padma Lakshmi, Christina Tosi, Sohla El-Waylly, Nancy Silverton, Julia Child, Kwame Onwuachi, Hetty Lui McKinnon, and others.

Sarah New is the associate director of publicity at Knopf Cooks. With over a decade of publishing experience across fiction and nonfiction, she has run major cookbook campaigns for authors such as Nancy Silverton, Sohla El-Waylly, Deb Perelman, Hetty Lui McKinnon, Madhur Jaffrey, Joan Nathan, Kwame Onwuachi, and Padma Lakshmi, as well as for reissues of classic cookbooks by Marcella Hazan, Julia Child, and Edna Lewis. She lives in Brooklyn and hails from Vermont.

Elka Roderick is a publicist at Alfred A. Knopf. Elka joined the company in 2022 and has had the pleasure of working with authors such as Kay Chun, Irene Yoo, Ruby Tandoh, Sonoko Sakai, Melissa Weller, and assisted on the publicity campaigns for Deb Perelman, Hetty Lui McKinnon, and Sohla El-Waylly.

Angela Rose West is a publicity assistant at Knopf. She works with cookbooks, literary fiction, and nonfiction. She has worked on cookbook campaigns for authors such as Beejhy Barhany, Kevin West, Hetty Lui McKinnon, Nini Nguyen, Noah Galuten, and Kwame Onwuachi.Angela Rose is a fierce proponent of rhubarb pies and instant-read thermometers. She lives in Washington Heights.

Deb Wood is the Design Director at Knopf Cooks, where she collaborates with the team to produce visually distinctive and bespoke books for a distinguished roster of cookbook authors. Prior to joining Knopf in 2024, she was the Creative Director at Abrams.

Kelly Blair is an art director at Alfred A. Knopf. In her role at Knopf Cooks, where she oversees cover art, she has had the privilege of designing covers for authors such as Lidia Bastianich, Julia Child, Marcella Hazan, Madhur Jaffrey, Edna Lewis, Joan Nathan, Nini Nguyen, Kwame Onwuachi, Deb Perelmen, Renato Poliafito and Danielle Sepsy
