His first acquisition at Doubleday was Hua Hsu’s Stay True, which won the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Critics Circle Award and was named one of The New York Times’ 100 Best Books of the 21st Century. His first novel at Doubleday, Eric Puchner’s Dream State, was selected as a 2025 Oprah’s Book Club pick.
In addition to Hsu and Puchner, he works with Benjamin Moser, Maaza Mengiste, Amanda Hess, Kyle Chayka, Vincent Bevins, Eric Lach, Jen Percy, Merritt Tierce, Julie Phillips, Nell Irvin Painter, David Gauvey Herbert, Aymann Ismail, and Zach Williams, among others. In 2025, he announced the launch of Outsider Editions, a reissue series devoted to bringing renewed attention to overlooked works in the literary canon, set to debut in summer 2026. The series features writers including Shiva Naipaul, Rebecca West, David Bradley, David Wong Louie, Jean Said Makdisi, William Finnegan, and Han Ong. He acquires memoir, biography, literary fiction, history, criticism, and essays, with a focus on culturally and intellectually engaged writing.
