American Music, by Jane Mendelsohn, is a book about storytelling and storytellers. A physical therapist named Honor forms an unlikely connection with one of her patients, an Iraqi war veteran named Milo. When Honor works with Milo, the two find that her touch releases memories—stories—in them both.
