The long-awaited HBO Max limited series adaptation of Station Eleven will premiere on December 16, and we hope you’ll celebrate with us by joining author Emily St. John Mandel, series showrunner Patrick Somerville, and moderator Isaac Fitzgerald for a conversation about the adaptation.

A finalist for both the National Book Award and the PEN/Faulkner, Emily St. John Mandel’s bestselling Station Eleven is set in the eerie days of civilization’s collapse. The Traveling Symphony is a troupe of actors and musicians dedicated to keeping the remnants of art and humanity alive. But when they arrive in St. Deborah by the Water, they encounter a violent prophet who will threaten their existence. Traveling back and forth in time to depict life before and after the pandemic, this is an audacious book that explores art, love, and the strange twists of fate that connect us all.

Watch the teaser and learn more about the adaptation of Station Eleven in Entertainment Weekly.

We hope you will join Emily, Patrick, Isaac, and the rest of us in reading (or revisiting) Station Eleven and discussing it at this meeting of the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group’s How Have I Not Read This? book club. Read along with us at #HowHaveINotReadThis
