The Social Network Nabs 8 Oscar Nominations
Nominations for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards were announced this morning, and The Social Network has garnered eight nominations, including nods for Best Picture, Best Director (David Fincher), Best Actor (Jesse Eisenberg), and Best Adapted Screenplay (Aaron Sorkin). The Accidental Billionaires, by Ben Mezrich, provided the inspiration for the now-Oscar-nominated script. Click here to read an excerpt of The Accidental Billionaires.
Film rights to Mezrich’s upcoming book, Sex on the Moon, were picked up last week by Sony. The producers behind The Social Network (Scott Rudin, Michael DeLuca, Dana Brunetti, and Kevin Spacey) have also signed on to Moon.
