PBS To Air Half the Sky Documentary
On October 1 and 2, PBS will air Half the Sky, a documentary based on the book by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn.
The film is a two-part, four hour broadcast, and will be aired as a special presentation of Independent Lens. Filmed in 10 countries, the documentary follows Kristof, WuDunn, and several celebrity activists—including Diane Lane, Eva Mendes, and Meg Ryan—on a journey to tell the stories of the inspiring people around the globe who are standing up to the oppression of women and girls in the developing world.
In addition, Sheryl will be doing a special Q&A on GoodReads on October 1 at 4pm EST. Click here to submit a question in advance and to learn more about the event!
